Richard Brown, AIA
Founding Principal | Design Director
Richard has practiced in Oregon, Washington, and California since 1976. He opened Richard Brown Architect AIA (RBA) after five years with ZGF Partnership, where he designed institutional and commercial facilities. Richard’s experience includes programming and master planning, new construction and renovation of existing and historic structures for institutional and private clients. His success in working with neighborhood and building committees highlights his ability to harness community energy and facilitate team member communications. Since 1989, he has worked with private groups, institutions, and public agencies to address their facility and expansion needs. In 2020, Richard transitioned business ownership to Hope Telford, and took on the role of Design Lead at T+BSA, as well as founding principal. Richard’s focus is now on design, project management, and mentorship. His work with clients and organizations has been recognized by numerous national (McAuley Chapel), local and regional design awards.
