Newberg Choir House
We designed this four bedroom home for a choir director / composer and his wife, for a 25-acre property north of Newberg. Designed to replace an existing home that had fallen into disuse and disrepair, this was to be a new, more open structure that would be more energy efficient and allow for larger gatherings of family and friends. It was designed to take advantage of the close-in and distant views that are present, over the vineyards and towards Mt Adams & Mt Rainier.

Location: Newberg, OR
The couple wanted to use this house personally, as well as potentially as a short-term rental property (and geared towards music groups). The living area was designed to hold a choir of 25 to 30 people, and the walls were canted to control acoustics. The existing house was to be salvaged, for use of many of the cabinets, wall panels, and structural elements for the new home.
